Harrisville Township, the oldest settlement in Medina County, was established in 1810. The Township, which encompasses the village of Lodi, is a mix of open farmland, homes with two acre minimum lots, business zoned properties (many currently available) and the West branch of the Black River. Harrisville Township includes an I-71 interchange along with interstate 224 and Ohio State Route 42. Lodi is 35 minutes from Cleveland Hopkins Airport and 40 minutes from the Canton-Akron Airport.

Harrisville Township is part of the Cloverleaf School District and is served by Lodi Community Hospital, part of the Cleveland Clinic network.

The township is also zoned. Zoning permits are required for any structure and some home occupations. County building department permits are also required.
