York Township, settled in 1830, is conveniently located 30 miles south of Cleveland and 30 miles west of Akron. York Township entered into a Cooperative Economic Development Agreement (CEDA) with the City of Medina, which consists of approximately 273.18 acres. The CEDA agreement permits annexation of properties into Medina City without being detached from York Township and the agreement further ensures that the City will not annex any other properties in York Township for the period of the agreement (50 years).
